Norton AntiVirus Firewall help: when first starting CrossClip, Norton pops up a warning. Select Permit and click OK. This will generate a basic "rule" for Norton to follow.

This will be sufficient for CrossClip to receive text, but if you wish to receive images, you'll need to do more.

Open Norton AntiVirus. (If you open the SystemWorks suite, you'll have to get to the AntiVirus control panel first. Click Options and then choose Norton AntiVirus from the floating menu.)

Click on Internet Worm Protection, then Program Control:

Assuming Norton has interacted with the CrossClip program (see step 1), evidence will show up here. Click the CrossClip program, then Modify. (If CrossClip does not already exist in the program list, you could Add it, here.)

Select "Manually Configure" from the list:

Notice that the existing rule Permits "any" computer, adapter, and protocol, instead of limiting to specific ports. While it seems like that ought to work, in fact it doesn't. Select the rule and click Modify:

Click Communications, make sure "TCP and UDP" protocols are enabled, select "Only certain types of communication or ports", and click Add:

Enter a port range from 9091 to 9092, for Remote location:

Click OK. Then Add another new rule. Enter the same port range for Local:

When you're done, the "rules" list should show both local and remote ports enabled:

Assuming your screen looks like the above example, keep clicking OK until you're out of the Setup routines. Quit CrossClip and restart, to make sure Norton Antivirus has an opportunity to follow the new rules.
